China: An Inside View
Accelerate your Business Success
Program Overview
China’s strong economic growth and increasing foreign investment over the past
two decades indicate that many companies have already succeeded in the country,
taking advantage of both market and cost-saving opportunities.
International firms typically view an involvement in China as crucial to their global
business success. Nonetheless, doing business in China can be difficult. Experienced
multinationals have long been aware of the challenges, summed up by the Chinese

industries in China. Each participant will choose an industry to explore among the
following: Automobile, Retail, Entertainment, Finance/Venture Capital, Medical, Olympics/
Sports, Real Estate/Construction, or Software and Technology. Participants will then

questions about the industry of their interest and select “site visits” for that afternoon.
The following day each group will prepare a short presentation explaining what they have
learned about the similarities and differences compared to their own industries in the
west, and will share their experiences with the rest of the participants.
