International MBA
The one-year International MBA at IE offers you something more than the average MBA program.
You will receive second-to-none business training complimented by the cultural experience of
studying at an international school, with a truly international student body, all against the
backdrop of Spain’s capital city. The International MBA at IE, which can be followed in English
or Spanish, affords you the opportunities, inspiration, and experience necessary for international
professional success.
Structure The IE International MBA curriculum, which was named the “most innovative curriculum” of any international MBA
program by Business Week in November 2008, combines proven techniques with cutting-edge insights. Each of the three core periods
is preceded by a short “change module” that progressively transforms participants into genuine leaders and agents of change.
Launch - Kicks off the ACCELERATE program and several innovative workshops in areas such as team building, critical thinking,
cross-cultural and effective communication, creativity, and decision-making, which continue throughout the year with a
balanced training and development program that cultivates personal and interpersonal skills and abilities, including, negotiation,
leadership, and coaching.
First Core Period - Fundamentals courses on quantitative analysis, economics, marketing, accounting and organizational
behavior lay the foundation for the rest of the program. Participants also begin their transformation into true entrepreneurs, as
the two-term entrepreneurial management course gets underway.
Making Change Happen - The multidisciplinary course draws on methodologies from the domain of executive education to give
participants a holistic perspective on change and change management in organizations.
Second Core Period - The triple core of management – strategy, finance, and operations – takes center stage.
Change in Action - Industry leaders and experts help students plot plans to turn challenges into opportunities. This sets up for
the third and final core period in which participants acquire the global vision that makes the difference.
Third Core Period - Integration of the management of people, of technology and of the firm’s social and political environment in
different countries becomes the main focus.
During the elective period, students choose between six and eight courses from more than 70 electives offered from all areas
of management. Topics vary from year to year, reflecting the incorporation of newest thinking into the program. Alternatively,
students can enroll in the Venture Lab or study abroad at one of our elite exchange partner schools around the world.
As a graduate who has excelled in your academic and professional career you will be demanding a lot from your MBA studies. IE
Business School’s International MBA is intended for people with your aspirations, ambitions, and drive. An international program
in all senses of the word, the International MBA will give you the head start in your career that you need, or help you to re-route
your professional future, expanding your professional network and horizons.
